Do You Know How Much Power Is In The Person of Jesus?
The Living God of Israel created the heavens and the earth and the spirit of man. He then sent His Son, Jesus, to declare His truth and to be the Savior of the world, that believing you might have life through His name. The LORD anointed Him to “preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound” (Isaiah 61:1-3; Psalm 147:3).
Our Substitute: Our loving Father sent His only begotten Son so that He might justly condemn and punish our sin [wrongdoing] in the flesh of His sinless Son (Romans 8:3). Jesus loved us and gave Himself for us. “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God” (I Peter 3:18).
The Sin Offering: “And when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are
healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have
turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:2-6).
Our condition: God says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9). “There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10). “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear” (Isaiah 59:2). “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (I John 1:8).
God’s gift: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:1). “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12). Jesus took upon Himself our sin, our sorrows & griefs, and curse for sin.
His righteousness, not ours: “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy he saved us” (Titus 3:5; Isaiah 64:6). “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). Jesus offers us His imputed righteousness. “And therefore it was imputed to him [Abraham] for righteousness . . . for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification” (Romans 4:21-25).
Peace with God: Jesus gives “light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace” (Luke 1:79). “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).
Light of the world: Jesus calls us out of darkness into His marvelous light. “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12). “I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness” (John 12:46). “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin” (I John 1:7).
The new creature: Christ gives us a new heart and His Spirit within us, fullness of life, everlasting joy and forgiveness of sins. “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you” (Ezekiel 36:26-27). “‘He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.’ (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive)” (John 7:38-39). “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Washed clean: Christ “loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood” (Revelation 1:5). The Son of God gives us His righteousness and peace and His Spirit when we set our love on Him, call upon His name, repent of sin and believe the Scriptures regarding Him: “That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day” (I Corinthians 15:3-4).
The Way, the Truth and the Life: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25). “God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son” (1 John 5:11). “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life” (I John 5:12). “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36). “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name” (John 20:31).
His power and deliverance: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12). Christ is the Living Hope to the hopeless; He gives strength and newness to the weary soul; new life to the soul dead in trespasses and sin; courage and power to the faint and fearful; He opens the prison door of addiction and wrongdoing and despair and sets the captives free. “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not” (Jeremiah 33:3). “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36).
Choice 1: “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:10). “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Revelation 21:4). “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost” (Romans 15:13).
Choice 2: “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness” (Romans 1:18). “And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15). “And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats…. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, ‘Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world’” (Matthew 25:32-34). But to those on His left, “Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41). “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal” (Matthew 25:46).
