Who is Jesus? And what will you do with him?
1. JESUS IS THE SIN-BEARER.
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6). The first half of this verse shows us our need of salvation. The second half shows us the provision that God has made for our salvation. Since we have gone astray and we have turned to our own way, we can say that we are lost in sin. We are all sinners. Romans 3:23 says “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Do you agree with God that you are a lost sinner? If you are willing to admit the fact that you are a lost sinner, the next thing to see is that God made a way to save us from our sins. The second part of Isaiah 53:6 says: “the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” The Lord Jesus is our all-sufficient sin-bearing Savior. The Bible says “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us” (Galatians 3:13). 2 Corinthians 5:21 says “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us.” Jesus took upon Him all of our sins. Our sins are no longer upon us, if we trust in Him as our personal Savior.
2. JESUS IS THE RISEN SAVIOR.
“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25). Not only do we receive pardon from sin, but because Jesus “always lives” He is able to save us “to the uttermost.” That means that He can deliver us from the power of sin. We can trust in Jesus Christ to give us victory over sin. Jude 24 adds, “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.” We can have freedom from sin if we truly believe on the resurrected Savior. The Lord Jesus has all the power we need in order to see deliverance from sin. We must rely upon His power and His strength and not in our own flesh. Jesus’ resurrection is the sign that demonstrates that God is pleased with His work on the cross. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live” (John 11:25).
3. JESUS IS LORD.
“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ” (Acts 2:36). Are you willing to accept Him as your Divine Lord? Would you surrender to Him your life, your heart, thoughts, words, and actions? The Bible says that we must confess Him as Lord. “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). If Jesus is not Lord of all, then He is not Lord at all. “The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all” (Acts 10:36).
4. JESUS IS MINE.
It is not enough to know that Jesus is the Sin-Bearer, the Risen Savior, and that He is Lord; one must also make this Jesus their own personal Sin-Bearer, their own Risen Savior, and their own Lord. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12). According to this verse those who willingly “receive Him” are given the privilege of becoming the sons of God. You must receive Him as your Sin-Bearer, as your Risen Savior, and as your Lord. Will you take Him to be whatever He offers Himself to you to be?
The Bible says “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (10) For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (11) For the Scripture says, ‘Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.’ (12) For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. (13) For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved’” (Romans 10:9-13).
There are only two choices regarding the Lord Jesus, you can reject Him or receive Him. Please receive Him, today.
